A leading global law firm is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Banking and Finance group in Sydney. This role is ideal for a derivatives lawyer who wants to deepen their transactional expertise while broadening into other areas of banking and finance.

The position principally involves advising domestic and international financial institutions on complex OTC derivatives transactions and related derivatives regulation. The successful candidate will also be encouraged to work across a range of structured and general finance matters, including asset, equipment and receivables financing, financial services and banking regulation, corporate and working capital finance, and property finance.

The firm's dedicated global derivatives practice advises investment banks, fund managers, corporates, hedge funds, clearinghouses and derivatives service providers across the full spectrum of transactions, with significant cross-border work and close collaboration with colleagues in the Asia-Pacific region. The Sydney banking team handles matters spanning property finance, acquisition and project finance, debt capital markets and general corporate banking for major Australian and global institutions.

Demonstrated experience in derivatives and structured finance gained at a reputable national or international law firm or in-house at a leading financial institution
At least 5+ years post-qualification experience
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple partners within a group
Proven ability to build networks and support business development and marketing initiatives
Eligible to practice law in Australia
