A leading real estate disputes practice is seeking an experienced Senior Associate or Legal Director to join its leasehold enfranchisement team in London. The team sits within a wider property disputes group and works closely alongside national projects, real estate, construction and litigation teams to deliver an integrated dispute resolution service.

The role involves acting for large estate landlords, investors, developers and tenants on statutory lease extension claims, collective enfranchisement claims, right to manage claims and tenants' rights of first refusal. You will also advise on enfranchisement reform and the application of legislation to regeneration and development schemes, managing statutory claims that are often subject to strict timetables.

The team acts for both landlords and leaseholders, providing a balanced perspective on achieving client objectives cost-effectively and efficiently. You will negotiate settlements with opposing parties, build and maintain client relationships, prepare reports, participate in marketing initiatives and contribute to departmental training, all while ensuring files are managed in compliance with Lexcel procedures.

At least 5+ years relevant post-qualification experience, or equivalent, gained from a reputable firm
Strong knowledge of freehold and leasehold enfranchisement is essential
Drive, enthusiasm and client focus
Commercial awareness and ability to work to deadlines
Strong technical and communication skills (both spoken and written), including the ability to write in plain English
Good interpersonal, presenting and client-facing skills
