A leading independent Australian firm is seeking an ambitious Senior Associate to join its expanding Banking team, with a primary focus on complex, high-value real estate finance matters. The team is highly collaborative and acts on the full range of corporate, leveraged and real estate finance transactions for sophisticated sponsors, institutional investors and private credit providers, rather than bank-side financings.

The role offers hands-on responsibility and close client contact, with the opportunity to lead transactions end-to-end and to contribute to the ongoing growth of the practice. There is a strong emphasis on business development, and while a proven track record is not required, the successful candidate should be keen to participate in those efforts and develop the necessary skills.

Minimum 5 years' post-admission experience in real estate finance gained with a leading Australian firm
Experience advising on the full range of real estate financings, including acquisition, investment, development and refinancing
Strong drafting skills across facility agreements, intercreditor agreements and side deeds
Excellent analytical, communication and negotiation capabilities
Highly organised with effective and timely management of transactions and key workstreams
Proven track record in building and maintaining effective working relationships
Strong commitment to supporting continuous learning and developing junior lawyers
Commercial mindset and pragmatic approach to legal practice
