A leading global law firm seeks a Senior Manager, Conflicts Attorneys (International) to be based in London and lead the firm's conflicts clearance function across its international offices. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of conflicts clearance outside the United States, serving as the senior escalation point for complex and novel conflicts questions, and interfacing directly with partners on matter approvals.

The role combines hands-on management of the most sensitive clearances with building, training, and leading a growing team of conflicts attorneys and analysts. The Senior Manager will also drive the operational health of the international function—workload allocation across European, Middle Eastern, and Asian time zones, service levels, precedent libraries, training programmes, and the development of conflicts and ethical screening technology.

Reporting to the Director of Conflicts Attorneys & Assistant General Counsel, the successful candidate will exercise independent judgment on clearance decisions, advise on multi-jurisdictional professional conduct rules, and collaborate with the Office of General Counsel, information governance, and legal operations on screening, data protection, and process improvements.

  • Qualified lawyer/solicitor with a minimum of 6 years' experience in a law firm conflicts, professional responsibility, risk, or general counsel function.
  • Substantial knowledge of conflict-of-interest principles under the professional conduct rules of England and Wales, with working knowledge of or ability to develop expertise in other relevant jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated experience analysing and resolving conflicts in a large or international law firm, including cross-border matters where multiple rule sets apply.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of lawyers and analysts across multiple offices and time zones.
  • Strong judgment and confidence to advise partners and firm leadership on sensitive matters.
  • Deep working knowledge of conflicts clearance and ethical screening technology (e.g., Intapp or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to accommodate occasional early or late calls and occasional travel to other offices.
  • Additional language skills advantageous but not required.
