An award-winning, highly specialised clinical risk team is seeking a Solicitor or Associate to join its Manchester office. This is an opportunity to work within one of the largest clinical negligence practices nationally, handling a challenging but fulfilling caseload of defendant clinical negligence work.

The team acts for a broad range of clients, including NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts, medical defence organisations, independent healthcare providers and medical malpractice insurers. The practice is recognised at the top rank by a leading legal directory for its unrivalled sector experience and its enthusiasm to adapt and react to client needs.

The role involves drafting legal documents, conducting face-to-face negotiations and mediation of claims, preparing cases for court deadlines, and acting as first and primary contact for clients. You will provide commercially focused legal advice and contribute to non-fee-earning activities such as knowledge sharing, training, client seminars, writing articles and business development.

Experience in clinical negligence, personal injury, civil litigation, or insurance law.
Experience at an NHS Resolution or MDO panel firm is desirable but not essential.
Strong technical and organisational skills to handle a variety of clinical negligence claims simultaneously via an IT case management system.
A commercial perspective and a highly client-focused approach.
Team-oriented and collegiate, with a willingness to mentor, coach and supervise less experienced team members.
