Solicitor, Trade Marks — Melbourne

A leading international law firm is seeking a Solicitor to join its market-leading Trade Marks team, based in Melbourne or Sydney. The role sits within a close-knit specialist group that has collaborated effectively for over a decade and works alongside a broader IP disputes practice.

You will act for national and international clients on a wide range of trade mark and brand protection matters, including Australian and international filing and prosecution, portfolio management, rebranding and clearance advice, and the drafting and negotiation of consents and co-existence agreements. You will also advise on IP aspects of due diligence and support trade mark and domain name disputes.

The team manages Australian and global portfolios for many of Australia's best-known brands, working strategically to protect high-value IP and to help clients maximise their IP assets through licensing and other commercial arrangements.

• 3+ years' demonstrable experience in trade mark prosecution, from a leading national or international private practice or an in-house environment
• Admission as a Lawyer in Australia or New Zealand
• Excellent academic record with strong legal skills and a practical mindset
• Proactive, collaborative approach with the ability to work to tight timeframes both in a team and autonomously
• Excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in learning and developing within a market-leading practice
• Curious, innovative mindset with an interest in AI and emerging technologies
