Special Counsel — Casualty & Liability, Sydney

Senior insurance litigator role within a well-established casualty and liability team in Sydney. The position offers regular exposure to public and product liability, professional indemnity, property damage, catastrophic claims and other general insurance disputes, with occasional marine and aviation matters.

You will act for sophisticated insurer clients on complex, high-value matters, run files autonomously and collaborate with a team of Special Counsel, Senior Associates and Associates supported by paralegals. There are clear opportunities to mentor junior lawyers and contribute to practice development.

The role is full-time on a hybrid working pattern and sits in a defence-focused liability practice with a global platform and progression opportunities.

• Extensive experience in liability, casualty or general insurance litigation
• Proven litigation experience across State and Federal Courts in Australia
• Ability to manage complex matters autonomously and provide commercial legal advice
• Strong interest in mentoring and developing junior lawyers
