Trademark Mid-Level Associate — Washington, D.C.

We are recruiting a mid-level associate to join a well-established trademark and copyright practice in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience handling the full range of trademark work, including a strong understanding of U.S. application prosecution and the rules and procedures of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

The role also encompasses proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, counseling on domestic and foreign trademark disputes, trademark clearance and selection, and managing U.S. and international trademark portfolios. Additional responsibilities include copyright counseling, licensing matters, and domain name disputes.

Litigation experience is preferred, and outstanding writing and communication skills are essential — the ability to work skillfully and effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and foreign trademark counsel is key to success in this position.

• 3–5 years of trademark and copyright experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. application prosecution and USPTO rules and procedures
• Experience with Trademark Trial and Appeal Board proceedings
• Familiarity with clearance, portfolio maintenance, licensing, and domain name disputes
• Litigation experience preferred
• Excellent writing and communication skills
