The Via Montello board-secretariat posting published 20 July 2026 asked for a law degree, preferably with Italian bar, at Quadro grade. A chief legal officer at a listed defence-electronics group said the seat needed someone who had already written a Law 185/90 license file. On 18 March 2026 Leonardo closed the Iveco Defence Vehicles acquisition for about 1.6 billion EUR, adding roughly 6 billion EUR of order backlog. MBDA Italia's legal seat sits at Via Monte Flavio 45, with an Italy workforce of more than 2,000. Thales Alenia Space Italia opened the Space Smart Factory at Tecnopolo Tiburtino on 7 October 2025, investing over 100 million EUR for more than 100 satellites a year, including Sicral 3 for the Italian Defence Ministry. Telespazio's headquarters is at Via Tiburtina 965, with a workforce of over 3,500.
Defense News reported in 2025 that Italy's ordinary defence budget sat at 31.3 billion EUR, with a NATO-methodology total of 45.3 billion EUR. Analisi Difesa, quoting UAMA in 2026, put 2025 outbound authorizations under Law 185/90 at 9.16 billion EUR, up 19 percent, on a two-way total of 11.14 billion EUR. Rete Italiana Pace e Disarmo, reading the 2025 Relazione in 2026, attributed 54.09 percent of authorization value to Leonardo and 3.17 percent to MBDA Italia.
