Day to day the in-house counsel redrafts supplier codes, audit-access language, complaints protocols, and last-resort remedies. Current LkSG still covers groups with at least 1,000 German employees, annual one-step risk analysis, a mandatory human-rights officer, and contract termination as last resort. Post-Omnibus CSDDD, applied from 26 July 2029, uses a two-step scoping every five years, covers the chain of activities, drops the mandatory officer, and removes termination as a statutory remedy. Bird & Bird in 2026 flagged those clause revisions as the remaining work.
