The Gesamtverband der Deutschen Versicherungswirtschaft reported in February 2026 that German insurers' 2025 premiums rose 6.6 percent to EUR 254 billion. BaFin said on 17 March 2026 that financial firms reported more than 700 severe ICT incidents in 2025 after DORA reporting began. On 12 May 2026 BaFin President Mark Branson announced shorter IT-spotlight examinations at financial firms.
