Associate – Data, Cyber & Technology Risk

Role: The role sits within the Commercial Dispute Resolution team, focusing on technology liability claims and cyber & data risk. As part of the wider professional liability and commercial disputes group, you will support the team specialising in cyber incidents, data litigation and technology claims.

You will represent a range of clients, including professionals in the technology sector and major insurers in this space. The work includes responding to data breaches and cyber incidents, coordinating investigations, providing legal advice and defending data and privacy claims.

Responsibilities:

• Interact directly with clients in a supportive team environment.
• Deliver key legal knowledge and provide meaningful advice to clients.
• Support on fast-paced breach notifications and incident response.
• Help grow the practice in the region.
• Work on cutting-edge issues in an emerging area of law.
• Operate autonomously while receiving support and supervision from leading practitioners.
• Make time-pressured, critical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate closely with the wider team, the firm and clients.

Candidate profile:

• At least 3 years PQE.
• Experience within a professional liability / commercial disputes practice.
• Ability to take ownership and responsibility for matters.
• Strong communication, relationship and client handling skills.
• Confidence in dealing with day-to-day client issues.
• Self-sufficient yet aware of professional boundaries.
• Positive, flexible approach to change and new initiatives.
• Team-oriented with a willingness to support colleagues.
