Associate, Employment & Labor — New York

Growing Employment team in a major US office is seeking a lateral associate with 3–6 years' experience handling the employment aspects of corporate transactions. The role focuses on advising private equity and strategic clients on employment issues arising in M&A and buyouts.

Day-to-day work includes drafting and negotiating employment agreements, offer and separation documents, restrictive covenant agreements, and related transactional provisions; participating in diligence calls; and assisting on pre-litigation and employment litigation matters where needed. You will work closely with senior attorneys across transaction teams.

• 3–6 years of substantive experience advising on employment aspects of private equity or M&A transactions.
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating employment agreements, offer letters, separation agreements and restrictive covenants.
• Experience handling employment disputes and/or internal investigations; familiarity with wage & hour, discrimination, leave and related issues.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong interpersonal and client-management skills, and ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
• Admission to practice in New York, or eligibility to obtain NY admission promptly.
