A fast-growing and highly regarded property disputes team in Manchester is seeking an ambitious Associate to focus on residential leasehold management matters. The team acts across the private, public and social housing sectors, advising landlords, leaseholders, developers, management companies, right-to-manage companies and managing agents, and is recognised as a market leader in residential leasehold management.

The role centres on a broad range of residential landlord and tenant work, including service charge disputes, repossessions, forfeiture, enfranchisement and Right to Manage, alongside strategic advice for large mixed-tenure schemes and building safety matters under the Building Safety Act 2022. There is also scope to support commercial landlord and tenant matters, rights to light and other real property disputes across a diverse client base.

Working closely within a collaborative national real estate litigation practice, you will build and maintain strong client relationships focused on the North-West market, contribute to business development initiatives, delegate effectively to junior fee-earners and help drive the team's growth plans.

  • At least 2 years' relevant post-qualification experience, or equivalent, gained at a reputable firm
  • Experience of complex residential property disputes
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Ability to supervise and develop junior team members
  • Commercial awareness and strong client focus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including plain-English drafting
  • Ability to work autonomously and to deadlines with minimal supervision
