Business Restructuring & Reorganization – Staff Attorney

Our Business Restructuring and Reorganization practice is seeking a Staff Attorney with 4–6 years of experience to support bankruptcy and restructuring matters across the firm. In this non-partner-track role, you will work closely with our internal new matters team to coordinate, manage, and prepare court disclosures required in connection with bankruptcy engagements, including firm retention as counsel to debtors or official committees, as well as special counsel appointments.

Your responsibilities will also include supporting legal research and writing initiatives, including practice-focused publications addressing bankruptcy, restructuring, distressed M&A, and related issues. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting Chapter 11 proceedings, out-of-court restructurings, and distressed acquisitions, with a focus on company-side engagements, along with strong writing, organizational, and time-management skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• 4–6 years of relevant experience in bankruptcy and restructuring, including Chapter 11 proceedings and out-of-court restructurings.
• Experience with distressed acquisitions, ideally on the company side.
• Strong legal research and writing skills, including experience preparing practice publications.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Membership in good standing with the Illinois Bar.
