A leading global law firm is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its Debt Finance practice in Sydney. The team advises borrowers, lenders and other financial institutions across the full spectrum of debt-related transactions and financial structuring, including syndicated loans, leveraged buyouts, refinancings and structured finance.

You will act for top-tier lenders and sponsors on leveraged and other complex cross-border finance transactions, negotiating and drafting loan agreements, security documents and related contracts while ensuring regulatory compliance and managing risk. Day-to-day work includes client communication, coordinating deal workflow and responding to queries from clients and outside parties.

The role offers genuine scope to contribute to the growth and development of the practice, including coordinating the work of more junior team members, and reports to a partner.

Admission to practice in Australia
4–7 years' PQE
General banking and finance experience, with broad exposure across a combination of acquisition and leveraged finance and syndicated and bilateral financings (secured and unsecured)
Strong academic record, intellectual curiosity and analytical approach
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong time management and the ability to stay calm under pressure across multiple deals
Client service focus, commercial awareness and sound judgment
Collaborative team player
