A leading international law firm is seeking a partner to join its growing Finance & Banking practice in London. The firm's finance bench is currently undersized relative to its overall platform, and several retirements are anticipated, creating a significant opportunity for an experienced lender-side finance partner to help build out and shape the practice.

The role focuses on fund finance, commercial finance, and asset-based finance, acting for lenders. Borrower-side work is handled by the firm's corporate team, so the ideal candidate will have a predominantly lender-side practice. Restructuring work is expressly excluded from this search.

There is potential for a leadership role within the finance group for the right candidate, though this is not guaranteed. The firm is also recruiting for the same practice across all of its US offices via a separate opening.

Portable book of business of $2M+ (USD)
Substantial experience in fund finance, commercial lending, and/or asset-based finance
Lender-side practice focus; pure borrower-side finance is not a fit
Restructuring experience is not required and is excluded from this search
Mature partner with strong relationships across multiple clients
Team or group moves preferred
Ideal candidates will have many career years ahead, though partners up to approximately 65 with a substantial practice and succession plan may be considered
