Junior Associate – Catastrophic Injury and Large Loss

We are seeking a newly qualified or junior associate (NQ–2 years PQE) to join our Catastrophic Injury and Large Loss team in Edinburgh.

This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-value, and sensitive claims across the full lifecycle—from liability investigations and policy coverage assessments through to quantum assessments for multi-track claims. You will support experienced partners while managing your own caseload, acting for leading insurers, corporate clients, and public bodies.

The work spans motor, employer's liability, public liability, and abuse claims, as well as public law actions, including judicial reviews. You will be part of a collaborative, supportive team in a modern and flexible working environment, with excellent opportunities to develop client relationships and grow within an expanding practice.

Key responsibilities:

• Handling a varied caseload and assisting partners with complex claims.
• Conducting investigations, taking witness statements, and reviewing medical records and reports.
• Drafting legal documents and providing strategic client advice.
• Liaising with clients to achieve optimal outcomes and ensuring compliance with SLAs and MI requirements.
• Managing files proactively, including adhering to court timetables and dealing with interlocutory proceedings and CCMCs.
• Supporting business development and marketing initiatives within the team.
