Apply in confidence →This is an opportunity to stay at the forefront of legal and regulatory developments while enjoying a more flexible and sustainable career path. We are looking for a senior lawyer who enjoys analysing complex legal issues, developing best practice, and sharing knowledge to help others succeed. Whether you are returning to the profession, seeking greater flexibility, or looking to apply your expertise in a different way, we would love to hear from you.
As a Knowledge Lawyer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our lawyers have access to the insights, resources, and knowhow they need to deliver exceptional client service. Rather than focusing on billable hours and transaction management, you will shape legal thinking, support the development of market-leading precedents, monitor legal developments, and contribute to training and thought leadership.
You will work closely with partners and lawyers across the practice, becoming a trusted adviser and valued resource. You will be supported by our Knowledge & Training, Thought Leadership, Business Development, and Transformation teams.
This is a role where your expertise will have a broad and lasting impact across our practices.
What you will be responsible for
- Templates and Precedents: Review and enhance templates and precedents; develop and maintain a best-in-class suite of clause banks; ensure legal and commercial relevance; collaborate with transformation specialists to improve accessibility, usability, and automation.
- Knowledge Management: Encourage sharing of knowhow; facilitate post-deal reviews; maintain knowledge databases and internal resources; develop topic guides and practical materials.
- Training and Development: Prepare and deliver legal training; present updates; support lawyers in using AI and legal technology; contribute to capability building and technical excellence.
- Legal and Regulatory Developments: Monitor and analyse developments; prepare guidance and briefings; respond to queries; contribute to consultation responses and thought leadership; update internal resources to reflect changes.
Who you are
- Mid- to senior-level lawyer or existing Knowledge Lawyer (PSL), ideally from a leading commercial law firm.
- Strong experience in M&A, including private M&A, joint ventures, corporate reorganisations, and corporate advisory.
- Exposure to finance transactions beneficial but not essential; candidates from other relevant commercial areas encouraged.
- Excellent technical, drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, service-oriented approach.
- Genuine interest in knowledge management, training, legal innovation, and legal technology.
- Commitment to helping others learn and succeed.
- Strong academic background.
Previous experience as a Knowledge Lawyer or in training is welcomed but not essential. We equally welcome experienced practitioners looking to transition into a knowledge-focused career. The role may suit those seeking an alternative to a traditional fee-earning path, returning from a career break, or wanting greater flexibility and a more sustainable long-term career.
We welcome applications for part-time or flexible working, including 3–4 days per week.
