Labor Associate

Join a premier national employment and labor firm in its Baltimore office as a Labor Associate. This role focuses on traditional labor law, representing employers in union-related matters and providing compliance advice under federal and Maryland workplace laws.

Day-to-day work includes handling unfair labor practice charges, advising on union organizing campaigns, negotiating collective bargaining agreements, managing grievances and arbitrations, and conducting management training on labor relations and workplace compliance.

• Handle unfair labor practice charges and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
• Represent management in NLRB elections.
• Provide legal counsel on union organizing, corporate campaigns, card check and neutrality agreements.
• Negotiate and advise on collective bargaining agreements.
• Manage grievance, arbitration, and mass picketing injunction matters.
• Review handbooks, policies, and forms for state and federal compliance.
• Conduct management training on labor relations and workplace harassment, discrimination, and retaliation issues.

Ideal candidates will have strong traditional labor experience and a commitment to advising management clients.

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Minimum of 4 years of traditional labor law experience (preferred).
• Active membership in the Maryland Bar.
• Understanding of current state and federal agency enforcement techniques (preferred).
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and project management skills.
• Superior written and oral communication abilities.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred, not required).
• Willingness to travel regularly on business.
