We are seeking an associate with at least four years of experience to join our Labor and Employment team on a full-time, partnership-track basis. This position may be based in one of our offices in Washington, D.C., Richmond, Dallas, Houston, or Atlanta.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing employment litigation matters, including taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing motions, communicating with opposing counsel, and independently managing case strategy, deadlines, and dockets. You should also be comfortable advising employers on a broad range of workplace issues. Familiarity with federal and state OSHA laws and regulations is a plus.

Experience advising employers on labor matters is essential, including strong knowledge of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) processes and proceedings, and labor-related agency investigations. You will have strong analytical, research, writing, and communication skills, and the ability to work directly with clients. You should be capable of independently managing matters, developing practical and business-focused advice, conducting legal research, drafting position statements and other advocacy materials, and coordinating effectively with colleagues and clients.

Prior large law firm experience is preferred. Admission to the bar in the jurisdiction where you will be based is preferred and, in any event, required within one year of joining.

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • At least 4 years of labor and employment experience (class of 2022 or more senior)
  • Experience managing employment litigation, including depositions and motion practice
  • Strong knowledge of NLRA and NLRB processes
  • Experience advising employers on workplace and labor matters
  • Excellent analytical, research, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to work directly with clients and manage matters independently
  • Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction (or ability to become admitted within one year)
