Leveraged Finance Partner – New York

This is an ongoing confidential partner search. The mandate is reviewed on a rolling basis with the client, and what follows is the current brief.

We are a small, nimble AmLaw firm with a deliberately collaborative culture, seeking a leveraged finance partner (or counsel) to join our New York office and help build out our corporate practice. Our corporate group covers M&A, project finance, and leveraged finance, and we operate practice-group-agnostically at the senior level: strong individuals or small groups in complementary areas are welcome, provided the firm can support and platform their practice.

Our firm is committed to staying small and selective, emphasizing work ethic, cultural fit, and continuous business generation over rigid criteria. We are open to profiles that may not tick every box if we see outstanding potential and a genuine fit. Candidates should be comfortable in an equity-only partnership where cross-selling is the norm, credit for originated work is recognized immediately, and a significant portion of partnership net income is allocated to a bonus pool.

• JD from an accredited law school and admission to the New York Bar (or ability to become admitted promptly)
• Significant experience in leveraged finance, with overlap into M&A or project finance viewed favorably
• Proven track record of business generation, with a portable book of business showing growth over time
• Entrepreneurial, go-getter mindset; the firm has no interest in service partners
• Excellent client relationships and a clear business plan for continuing to build a practice
