Life Sciences Licensing Associate (Mandarin Fluency)

A leading international law firm seeks a highly qualified mid-level associate with 3–5 years of experience to join its Life Sciences group in Philadelphia. This role focuses on intellectual property licensing, technology transfer, and strategic technology transactions.

The successful candidate will draft and negotiate intellectual property licenses, joint development and collaboration agreements, strategic alliance agreements, technology and services agreements, and distribution agreements. The associate will also provide IP and technology transaction support—including due diligence—for corporate transactions and technology transfers in the life sciences arena.

Fluency in Mandarin is required, and experience working in Asia is strongly preferred. Outstanding academic credentials, comparable law firm experience, and excellent written and oral communication skills are expected. Relevant bar admission (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly) is required.

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in intellectual property licensing and technology transactions, ideally within the life sciences sector.
• Fluency in Mandarin required; prior experience working in Asia strongly preferred.
• Experience drafting and negotiating IP licenses (patent and trademark), joint development, collaboration and alliance agreements, technology licenses and services agreements (including SaaS), and distribution agreements.
• Experience performing IP and technology transaction due diligence for corporate transactions and technology transfers.
• Demonstrated ability to work within teams and independently manage substantial components of transactions.
• Outstanding academic credentials and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Relevant bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.
