Join a national local government team that specialises in defending public and employers' liability claims for public-sector clients. The role sits within a defendant-focused casualty practice and offers exposure to high-quality litigation work including public inquiries, Human Rights Act claims, abuse and neglect matters, and equalities litigation.

The role is open to candidates based in either of two regional offices and offers structured support and development to build technical expertise in social care litigation. You will work as part of a team managing litigation files, engaging with clients, counsel and experts, and preparing cases for hearings.

Experience handling or assisting on adult and/or children’s social care, abuse or casualty claims
Proven ability to manage your own caseload and assist senior fee-earners
Strong drafting, advocacy support and legal research skills
Good communication, negotiation and client-facing skills
Organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritise to strict deadlines
Familiarity with disclosure management and CPR practice rules
Comfort attending client meetings and court hearings and instructing counsel/experts
