A full-service Am Law firm is seeking a part-time associate to join its Labor & Employment Practice in its Akron, Ohio office. This role is ideal for an experienced attorney who desires meaningful, high-level work within a flexible schedule; full-time may also be considered.

The successful candidate will handle employment law matters primarily on behalf of private and carrier clients, with the potential for some commercial litigation. The position involves extensive contact with clients, governmental agencies, and opposing counsel, and offers a significant role in all aspects of labor and employment law, including litigation, counseling, and training.

Although employment law experience is preferred, the firm is also interested in developing talented litigators from any arena who have a demonstrated interest in labor and employment and are looking for an opportunity in a growing, collaborative practice.

Admitted to practice in Ohio
1–7 years of experience in employment law matters
Prior employment litigation experience required (management side preferred)
Employment counseling or in-house employment law experience preferred
Strong writing and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Comfort drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings, drafting and arguing motions, and taking and defending depositions
Self-starter able to work independently and as part of a team
