Leading national law firm is seeking a lateral partner to join its Canadian Energy Regulatory and Environmental practice. The role will focus on regulatory work in electricity and nuclear projects and on environmental matters including criminal defence in regulatory prosecutions.
The successful candidate will advise on energy regulatory proceedings, permitting and compliance for large infrastructure and resource projects, and lead environmental enforcement defence. You will join a team with an established presence before Canadian regulators and contribute to growth in nuclear, electricity and related environmental practices.
- Demonstrated experience in energy regulatory matters (electricity and/or nuclear) and environmental law, including environmental prosecutions and regulatory defence.
- Proven ability to lead or substantially grow a portable, sustainable partner practice; willingness to work long hours when required (grinder profile considered).
- Comfort managing conflicts processes and transitioning matters in a regulated market.
- Portable book of business of $2M+ (USD)
