We are recruiting a Senior Associate to join a market-leading financial regulation and disputes team, one of the largest practices of its kind in the United Kingdom. The team operates across multiple offices and works on behalf of a broad range of financial institutions, including major clearing banks, building societies, private and wealth banks, digital banks, international banks, payment service providers and fixed charge receivers.

The role involves running a varied contentious caseload for key financial services clients, supervising junior team members, and providing strategic and commercial legal advice on a range of disputes and claims alongside more senior colleagues. The team handles high-value and complex banking litigation, professional negligence claims, investment litigation, international disputes, regulatory matters, fraud, trade finance and receivership instructions, as well as defending reputationally sensitive claims and undertaking specialist projects to help clients prevent future claims.

There is a strong emphasis on business development, with opportunities to nurture existing client relationships and build new ones, working with UK and international clients. The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative culture that invests in professional development and career progression.

  • Qualified lawyer with 4+ years' PQE, though applications from candidates outside this bracket who demonstrate the required expertise are welcome
  • Experience running a personal caseload of litigation matters with a thorough understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and the litigation process
  • Financial litigation experience is ideal, but backgrounds in insurance litigation, property litigation or commercial litigation will also be considered
  • Experience supervising or line managing associates, trainees and/or paralegals is desirable
  • Excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
  • Commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development, with a track record of maintaining and nurturing strong client relationships
  • Team-oriented approach with a genuine desire to develop junior team members and contribute to a collaborative culture
