Senior Solicitor/Senior Associate – Corporate Tax & Tax Disputes (Sydney)

A leading independent full-service law firm is seeking an experienced tax lawyer to join its Sydney tax team, working closely with senior practitioners across a national tax practice on a sophisticated mix of tax disputes and strategic corporate and family office matters.

You will advise on complex tax questions where technical expertise sits alongside commercial judgment and strategy, spanning both contentious and advisory work. The role offers the chance to apply developed technical skills in challenging and rewarding circumstances.

Work will cover tax disputes and litigation (from revenue authority reviews through regulatory notice responses to formal litigation), family office and ultra-high-net-wealth matters for large private groups and individuals, and corporate and international tax including transfer pricing, anti-avoidance and dispute resolution mechanisms, alongside Division 7A, asset protection and succession planning.

As a senior member of the team, you will take ownership of matters, build trusted client relationships, mentor junior lawyers, contribute to business development and support the practice's continued growth.

• Senior Solicitor or Senior Associate with experience gained at a leading law firm or professional services firm.
• Corporate tax experience in a tax controversy and litigation setting.
• Advantageous: family office and ultra-high-net-wealth experience; and/or transfer pricing or international tax experience.
• Strong technical excellence combined with sound commercial judgment.
• Confident in owning matters, advising clients and building trusted relationships.
• Interest in mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to business development.
• Must hold all visas and approvals necessary to work in Australia if not an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
