Apply in confidence →We are seeking a 0–4 year PQE Solicitor or CILEx Lawyer to join our Property Recoveries team on a permanent basis. This is a claimant-focused role handling property damage insurance recoveries across a range of perils, including fire, flood, impact, and escape of water.
You will develop your skills within a supportive, ambitious team and gain exposure to the insurance property recovery sector. The role offers strong career progression opportunities in a growing practice.
- Manage your own caseload of fast-track, intermediate, and multi-track files, predominantly on a claimant basis.
- Investigate liability on general recoveries claims, including escapes of water, flooding, impact, and fire damage.
- Negotiate quantum and settlement of damages with third parties.
- Obtain witness statements, gather key documents, draft letters of claim, issue proceedings, handle disclosure, instruct Counsel and experts, and progress files to trial.
- Support marketing and business development activities within the team.
- Comply with client and internal billing/credit control protocols and meet a minimum annual target of 1,440 chargeable hours.
- Qualified Solicitor or CILEx Litigator, or substantial pre-qualification experience.
- Interest in and willingness to learn insurance property damage law, including basic principles of contract and tort.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients, intermediaries, and colleagues.
- Ability to analyse factual evidence, identify key legal arguments, and apply them effectively.
