An established Taxation group at a leading law firm is seeking a solicitor (2-5 PQE) to join its Sydney office. The role offers the opportunity to work on income tax matters for a diverse client base, including domestic and multinational corporates across financial services, technology, telecommunications, health, and mining sectors.

The successful candidate will deliver timely, commercially focused, and cost-effective tax advice on a wide range of transactions. Work will include tax issues arising from the disposal and acquisition of businesses and entities, corporate restructures, employee share plans, corporate distributions, cross-border transactions, and complex finance transactions. Responsibilities will involve providing tax advice and drafting legal documents.

The team collaborates closely with colleagues in Banking, M&A, and Funds Management, advising major banks, financial institutions, insurance providers, fund managers, and companies in resources, energy, and industrial sectors on the tax aspects of their transactions and disputes in Australia and offshore. 2–5 years' post-qualification experience (PQE)
Recognised tax experience from a legal or accounting firm, with a focus on corporate advisory and/or financial services
Experience drafting opinions and legal documents (candidates with limited legal drafting experience are encouraged to apply if willing to develop these skills)
Excellent analytical, communication, and research skills
Willingness to undertake detailed legal research, including appropriate use of AI tools
Strong commitment to client service
Enthusiasm for involvement in business development activities
