Traditional Labor Associate — Employment & Labor — Kansas City

Opportunity for an associate to join a national labor & employment practice in the firm’s Kansas City office, focusing on traditional management-side labor relations. The role handles representation of employers before labor agencies, collective bargaining and arbitration, and counseling on union avoidance and strike response.

Typical matters include defending unfair labor practice charges, prosecuting and defending NLRB election matters, advising on organizing campaigns (including card check and neutrality scenarios), negotiating collective bargaining agreements, conducting grievance/arbitration work, and providing management training on labor relations topics.

• Juris Doctor from an ABA‑accredited law school
• 2+ years of traditional labor experience handling management labor relations (NLRB, elections, bargaining, grievance/arbitration)
• Admission to the Missouri bar
• Strong written and oral communication, research, and project management skills
• Familiarity with state and federal agency enforcement and protected concerted activity principles
