Well-regarded energy regulatory practice seeks a 2–4 year litigation associate to join its Virginia office. The role focuses on administrative litigation before state public utility commissions, representing electric, gas and water utilities and other energy-sector clients across multiple jurisdictions.

Work will include contested rate and rider proceedings, certificate and interconnection matters, resource planning, renewable procurement and related regulatory compliance, with opportunity for significant stand-up time in trial-style administrative hearings and involvement in appellate work. The team also supports transactional and financing aspects of energy projects from a regulatory perspective.

  • 2–4 years of post-qualification litigation experience, preferably in energy or utility regulatory matters
  • Experience with administrative proceedings before state public service/public utility commissions and comfort with trial-style hearings
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills; ability to draft briefs, testimony and regulatory filings
  • Ability to manage client matters across multiple jurisdictions and work collaboratively on complex regulatory issues
