National planning and environmental team seeking an Associate to join a busy practice operating across multiple UK offices. The team advises both private and public sector clients on contentious and non-contentious planning matters, working closely with real estate, construction and public sector colleagues to deliver commercial, pragmatic advice.

The role will involve leading on complex planning applications and agreements, CPO and enforcement work, planning inquiries, and planning due diligence on commercial and corporate transactions. There is significant opportunity to build and develop a personal planning practice and to work on major regeneration, housing, infrastructure and energy projects for public bodies and private developers.

  • Qualified solicitor with up to 5 years' post-qualification experience in planning and environmental law
  • Proven ability to manage files and take responsibility for matters, including supervising junior staff
  • Experience with planning agreements (S106, S278), CPO work, enforcement and public inquiries, and planning due diligence
  • Excellent technical drafting, strong commercial awareness and outstanding communication skills
